"Earth and East": Romanian Cultural Days
25. June, 2024 | 18:00 - 26. June, 2024 | 20:00
A temporary exhibition of traditional Romanian blouses with opening and introduction by Ambassador Cristian Bădescu on June 25 at 18:00.
For the occasion, the Romanian embassy will present one wine d'honneur to celebrate the exhibition of traditional blouses, which are curated and belong to Aurelia Dub's permanent collection in Minnesund.
The Romanian Blouses, or “IA,” are celebrated annually on June 24th as “Ziua iei,” or “IA Day.” On this day, people in Romania and elsewhere in the world wear their traditional blouses with pride, demonstrating the diversity and beauty of Romanian embroidery.
Since 2013, the Romanian blouses have been recognized by the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and thus the awareness surrounding the costumes has been strengthened and promotes their preservation.
In parallel with this, Nerdrum Museum presents its own Kitsch collection, which consists of timeless coats and shirts designed for Nerdrum and the environment around him by Eline Dragesund.
